GORDONE 2022 CHENIN BLANC SEC DOMAINE BELARGUS

The Gordone 2022 from Domaine Belargus is a dry Chenin Blanc from the heart of Anjou Noir. The “La Gordone” plot sits on the north-facing bank of the Layon River, surrounded by ancient hedgerows, fruit trees, and medicinal plants – a biodynamic microclimate with expressive potential. The schist soil lends the wine saline minerality and a fine bitterness on the finish.

Vinified with native yeast and aged for 12 months on fine lees in large oak barrels (demi-muids), the wine is both creamy and taut. Aromas of white flowers, pear, herbs, and wet stone. On the palate, it’s smooth, salty, and elegantly long.

Compared to Loire icons like Jo Pithon, Richard Leroy, or Nicolas Joly, Belargus offers a modern, crystalline take on Chenin Blanc – dry, terroir-driven, and crafted with Burgundian precision.
