ROUERES 2021 CHENIN BLANC SEC DOMAINE BELARGUS

The Rouères 2021 from Domaine Belargus is a dry Chenin Blanc from the Grand Cru Quarts-de-Chaume, one of the warmest and most powerful terroirs in Anjou Noir. Vines grow on sandy clay soils with puddingstone, lending the wine roundness, fine bitterness, and deep aromatic complexity.

Vinified biodynamically with native yeast and aged for 24 months in large oak barrels and barriques, the wine is full-bodied, intense, and layered: aromas of yellow fruit, honey, curry, and spice dominate the nose, while mineral freshness brings balance to the palate.

Compared to Loire icons like Jo Pithon, Richard Leroy, or Nicolas Joly, Belargus offers a modern, dry interpretation of a site historically known for sweet wines – with tension, structure, and aging potential.
