Origin & Style  

The Grauburgunder R 2018 comes from selected parcels along the Nahe, shaped by slate, porphyry and quartzite soils. Emrich‑ Schönleber is known for precision and purity, crafting wines that combine elegance with structure. The 2018 vintage shows ripeness and depth while remaining focused and mineral.

Aromatics  

Ripe pear, yellow apple, subtle nutty notes, fine herbal spice and cool stony minerality. On the palate dense yet silky, with lively tension and well‑ integrated acidity. Long, harmonious finish with a gentle creamy touch.

Vinification  

Hand‑ harvested, spontaneously fermented and matured in a combination of large oak and stainless steel. Oak is discreet and supports structure without dominating.

Serving Recommendation  

Serve at 10–12 °C. Excellent with poultry, creamy pasta dishes or aromatic fish.

Ageing Potential  

Very good – drinking beautifully now, with 5–6 years of further development ahead.
